Lay Ministries Descriptions and Contact Names

Feel free to call the church office for contact information and to learn more about opportunities for service here at St. Andrew’s.  Trainings are available as needed.

Altar Guild   Director: Sigrid Maitrejean -- This is a devotional ministry.  Those who serve love this work, as it utilizes the best creativity, humility, and devotion--to God and to the priests and church where they serve.  More members are needed so that each person does not have to serve more than one month per year or less.

Choir/ Bell Choir    Music Director:  Gordon Swanson   Bell Choir Director:  David Moehlman -- Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings and Monday evenings respectively.

Church Mouse    Contact:  Vicki Fitzsimmons -- The Church Mouse provides reasonably priced religious books and gifts, as well as Just Coffee, to St. Andrew's parishioners. Sales volunteers help in selections, conduct sales, and set up or take down the Church Mouse table.

Christian Formation  Contact:  Eddie Renoux -- The Christian Formation committee plans programs, events and study groups at St. Andrew's to help each of us grow in our knowledge of God and the practice of a Christian life. Chaired by Polly Hyde, the committee is actively involved in the education and spiritual growth of our children, youth and adults. Bible study, Lenten programs, teen "lock-ins" and Church school activities all help to form us into the people of God.

Coffee Hour  Contact:  Sara Cobb -- Members of the church, women and men, are asked to volunteer to provide snacks for two coffee hours each year after the 10:00 a.m. service. Coffee, tea, punch and paper goods are supplied by the E.C.W. A sign up sheet is located in the church kitchen.

Counters:  Contact:  Jean Windmiller -- Every Sunday, two people count and record the collection for deposit.  We need 4-6 more people to join this ministry.  It takes about 1/2 hour after church, and usually each person only has to do it once a month or less if we have more people.

Daughters of the King  Contact:  Sara Cobb -- The Order of Daughters of the King is an international organization of women who have dedicated their lives to prayer and service. The Daughters maintain the congregation's prayer list, and meet regularly for prayer, study, and discussion.

Episcopal Church Women  President:  Gail Lockwood -- All the women of the church are members of E.C.W. Meetings are held once a month or as announced. The women work on many church related projects and fund raisers.  A 10% tithe to the church and donations to other worthwhile charitable projects are funded by the money raised by the E.C.W.

Healing Team  Contact:  Dcn. Anne Vellom -- The Healing Team is made up of people who are trained to pray for those who feel they need prayer for their various illnesses, or for their friends or family members who are facing illness.  Thanksgivings are welcome, too.  This prayer is offered after the 8 and the 10 a.m. Communion service.  The training is never over ... the Team continues to meet monthly.

Health Ministries  Contact:  Cathryn Kildahl, R.N. -- A potpourri of opportunities including visiting and assisting with the healthcare needs of the parish.
